Welcome to Room 8!

My name is Blanca Gabriela Vega. I was born and raised in Southern California. I have spent 27 years in the classroom (grades Pre-k-1st). I earned my B.A. in Human Development and a Minor in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College. After my first year in first grade, I fell in love with everything about it — the curriculum, the content, the creativity, and, most of all, the kids.  

When I’m not in the classroom, I’m busy being a mom to my 6th grader, who keeps me busy with sports! He is my greatest blessing and has completely changed who I am as an educator and person.

   As a teacher, I strive to encourage students to take charge of their learning. I want them to be proud of their accomplishments and confident in their abilities. I want kids to feel valued and respected by their peers.  My motto in school is to always strive for my best in everything I do.
