Dear Tulita Tidalwaves,

Welcome back! As we embark on another exciting school year at Tulita Elementary, we are filled with anticipation and enthusiasm for all the wonderful experiences and opportunities that await our students, families, and staff.

This year promises to be an exceptional one as we continue our commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Here are a few highlights and important updates for the upcoming school year:

1. New Faces and Warm Welcomes: We are delighted to introduce several new staff members who have joined our Tulita family. Their passion for education and fresh perspectives will undoubtedly enhance our school community. Please help me welcome Mrs. Kristen Pate and Mrs. Jill Mori who will be teaching TK this year, and Mrs. Jirika Peterson who will be Tulita’s Learning Center teacher. 

2. Learning Spaces: Over the summer, our custodial and M&O staff have made sure our classrooms and school is the best it can be for our students. You’ll notice new trees planted and, with the expansion of our Kindergarten program, we have been able to update the Kinder classrooms to ensure we have environments that will support our students’ academic growth and overall well-being. 

3. Community Engagement: We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is crucial for student success. We invite you to register as a volunteer and join our PTA! Together, we make our school better for our students. Your involvement is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

4. Social, Emotional, and Mental Health: The well-being of our students remains one of our top priorities. I am very excited to announce that we will have our school counselor, Ms. Chelsea Ruffolo with us on campus 4 days a week this year. Additionally, we are working hard to create a wellness space on campus for our students. A huge THANK YOU to our parent volunteers who are making the magic happen.
