-The Redondo Beach Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching and enhancing the education of all students in Redondo Beach Unified Schools
-RBEF seeks to fill the funding gap for our schools through community and corporate fundraising
-In 2013-2014 alone, RBEF will provide approximately $850,000 in programs and staff to enrich the education of Redondo Beach students
-RBEF funds are supporting:
  • Music, band, and science teachers (Elementary)
  • Counselors (Elementary)
  • Innovative teacher grants (Elementary, Middle, & High))
  • College field trips (Elementary, Middle, & High)
  • Early participation college aptitude tests (Middle & High)
  • College readiness parent education (Elementary, Middle, & High)
  • Family Science Nights (Elementary & Middle)
  • Intramural sports (Middle)
  • Vocal music (Middle)
  • Peaceful Playgrounds (Elementary)
  • Music Center Artists in Residency programs (Elementary)

-RBEF relies on donations from parents, grandparents, community members, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations to make these great things happen for our students
Why give to RBEF if we are already paying for the bond measures and supporting our school PTA/PTSA?
  • Bond dollars must be spent on capital improvements (facilities, technology equipment, etc.)
  • PTA/PTSA dollars support advocacy and enrichment programs at each school and they are restricted by local, state, and national policies
  • RBEF dollars can fund programs and staff district-wide (RBEF is the only source of additional funding that can pay for teachers and staff)

**Bond dollars create great facilities, PTA dollars create great school communities, RBEF can fund the programs and staff to maximize the learning for our students in those great facilities and great communities**

Additional school funding information
  • Over the last six years, reduced government funds have decreased the RBUSD budget by over $13 million
  • Despite repeated budget cuts RBUSD students still have access to art, music, science, college preparation programs, and counseling because of RBEF
  • We seek corporate partnerships year-round
  • We hold our annual giving campaign seeking personal donations in March
  • If someone wants to pursue a corporate partnership, please have them contact David Coe david@rbef.org
