Hello Families,

My name is Cassidy Nelson; welcome to 1st grade!  This is my 8th year teaching at Tulita Elementary. I love first grade and all the exploring, learning and fun we get to have!

I grew up in Redondo Beach and went to Tulita from preschool to sixth grade. It is an honor to be teaching where I was taught! I got my Bachelor's Degree from CSU Monterey Bay and multiple subject teaching credential from CSU Long Beach.  I was a collegiate soccer player at CSUMB and still love playing, when my schedule allows. Currently, I live in Torrance with my husband and two children. I enjoy going to the beach, traveling to new places, camping in the mountains and running on the strand.

I love teaching and believe in the whole child approach; teaching not just academic skills but social and emotional skills as well.  In this classroom we practice mindfulness, positive discipline and growth mindset.
