Message from Al Arizmendez, Tulita PTA President
Hello Tulita Families! I hope that everyone had a great weekend! The Tulita PTA touches your child’s life each and every week. This week, the PTA is supporting:
- Hands on Art – Mrs. Rossi’s classroom (4/27 – 5/04)
- E4T – El Tarasco Wednesday April 29th (lunch and/or dinner)
Congratulations to the Tulita Battle of the Books in taking third place at the District Battle of the Books! Well done Harry Lonsdale, Meriel Klinkner, Charlotte MacMorran, Ayden Liptak, Aidan Bell and Tyler Sharp. Great Job!
An eblast went out on Friday with information on how to submit proposal ideas to PTA for the 2015-16 year. Please share your thoughts and your voice and help the PTA enhance existing programs and let us know of ideas that should be considered.
Please remember that you can earn Money For Tulita when shopping at Amazon.com by Clicking here, by shopping at the South Bay Galleria (information) and by eating at El Tarasco this Wednesday. Back by popular demand, please come on by and enjoy some delicious and fast Mexican food at this family-friendly restaurant.
Keep an eye out for communication going out this evening via your room parent about Teacher Appreciation Week and the exciting things the PTA is coordinating to let our teachers know how much we love and appreciate them.
This week, the PTA will be celebrating the contributions of an extraordinary volunteer who will receive an Honorary Service Award as well as our Tidalwave students who moved forward in the Reflections competition. We will share all of their names in an upcoming eblast so that out Tidalwave community is able to congratulation our Reflections winners once again and our HSA award winner for the first time.
Finally, I would also like to thank each and every Tulita family that supports the PTA with a membership and/or volunteer efforts. Your support allows the PTA to do all that we do at Tulita.
Have a great week and thank you for making Tulita the special place that it is!

WHAT IS PTA?
PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the nation,
National PTA is the conscience of the country for children and youth issues. Through advocacy, as well
as family and community education, National PTA has established programs and called for legislation that
improves our children’s lives.
For more than 100 years, National Parent Teacher Association (National PTA®) has worked toward
bettering the lives of every child in education, health and safety. Founded in 1897 as the National
Congress of Mothers by Alice McLellan Birney and Phoebe Apperson Hearst, National PTA is a powerful
voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public
WHY SHOULD I JOIN PTA?
PTA connects families and schools. By joining PTA you show your children that school matters, and that
you are invested in their success. Your PTA membership gives the California State PTA a voice in
legislation and advocacy. PTA helps ensure that parents have a seat at the table when important
decisions that affect schools are made. PTA works together to improve the education, health and safety
of all children.
Three decades of research proves that students achieve higher grades, have better attendance and more
consistently complete homework when parents are involved – and just the act of joining PTA is a great
way to get involved.
