Principal's Weekly Message

Dear Tidalwave Families:

I hope you enjoyed the 3-day weekend honoring our veterans. As we approach Thanksgiving this year, I am thankful for all of the staff, students, and families that make Tulita so special! I feel privileged to be able to come to capus each day and see our teachers and support staff working with our students to help each child reach their individual potential. This week please join me in giving thanks and feeling grateful. Take a moment to thank the many people who make Tulita such a wonderful place to learn, think, and grow!

This week we look forward to our PTA Family STEM Night on Wednesday, November 15th. Tulita PTA is excited to bring the California Science Center Astro Adventures to our school this year for both Family Science Night (STEM Night) and assemblies for the students during the school day. On Wednesday, the CA Science Center Educators will provide a 45 minute interactive assembly for students. These assemblies are designed to share the love of STEM as well as inspire and ignite the students for their science fair projects. I hope to see you Wednesday evening at Family STEM Night. Please reach out to Diana Nelson with any questions regarding this event. ddjrnelson@gmail.com

Thursday we are excited to kick off our Watch D.O.G.S. program with our "Donuts with Dad" event at 7:45 am. Please see below for information and please RSVP to attend. This event is for dads and dad-like figures and their children only. If you can't make it, don't worry - you can still volunteer to be a Watch D.O.G. More information will come next week as we launch our volunteer sign up website. Please note that our Watch DOGS parking spot located in our parking lot is off limits unless you are serving as a Watch DOG for Tulita that day. If we have 2 dads serving as a Watch DOG on one day, whoever gets to school first can have the parking spot! Please be kind to each other with this.

This Friday morning I will be fulfilling my promise to our students for reaching our goal of 350 walkers at the Skechers walk. At a special assembly on Friday morning our students will turn me into a human ice cream sundae! I can't wait!

Lastly, don't forget to vote for our Red Ribbon Week photo entered in the National Red Ribbon Week Photo Contest. Voting began on Friday, November 3rd and will end of November 17th. Vote for Tulita's entry by clicking HERE and searching for key word "tulita" under "School Decorations."  Help us win an iPad for our school!

Thank you for reading this message thoroughly so you don’t miss any pertinent updates! You can always find my newsletter and any updates on our Tulita website at: http://tulita.rbusd.org/.
